‘Red Letter’ Update: Penn Paleographers now @ SIMS Special Collections!

It is with great pride and pleasure that the Penn Paleographers announce our group’s affiliation with the new Schoenberg Institute for Manuscript Studies. Through SIMS’ generous invitation, our group will now be holding our meetings in Penn’s new Special Collections Center on the 6th Floor of Van Pelt-Dietrich Library.

For a visual taste of our group’s awesome new home, check out the Special Collections Center on flickr:

Further details and updates to be found via SIMS live on all major social network media, via internet, Twitter (@SIMS_Mss) and YouTube.

This is a really exciting development for the Paleography Group. Our access to the new SIMS spaces and technologies creates terrific opportunities for the group to enrich our interaction with premodern manuscripts and enhance our ways of reading and deciphering the writings of their texts. We now have a possibility-filled summer ahead of us, planning for the future!

A huge thank you to everyone on Van Pelt’s 6th Floor for offering us access to their space and resources, but we are especially grateful to the SIMS team of Will Noel, Dot Porter, Lynn Ransom and Amey Hutchins for supporting the Penn Paleography Group and for making this all possible.
